In my bible study class this mo...I like this a lot. In my bible study class this morning, we were talking about the development of Christianity and all the feuds and foibles of that process (of which there were many and many have been ferocious). While I tend to understand people opting out of an historically brutal and unjust institution, I also agree that opting IN carries with it the responsibility to do one' s part to eliminate brutality and injustice from it. I think UCC is a beautiful example of a group of people doing just that 99% of the time.
